 Throughout the year we offer special events for the community! Some of these events would not be made possible without the help of donations from area businesses and volunteers. Visit the events page often throughout the year for an updated list!


 

 

 MOTHER'S AND FATHER'S DAY ESSAY CONTEST 2014

 

Tell us why "your mom or dad is the best in the world"!  In 100 words of less, tell us why your mom or dad is so special to you.  Maybe you have a wonderful aunt, sister, grandfather, or uncle that is the best in the world.   Tell us about them instead!  Hand written or typed we accept them all.  Include hand drawn pictures or photos to show that extra special reason why they are so great!

START DATE: MONDAY, MAY 12

Return essays to the Recreation Department (2511 10th Street) by the end dates listed above. If you would like your essay and/or pictures returned please include a self addressed and stamped envelope.  Winners will be listed on the website and featured in our newsletters. Prizes are awarded to winners!

 Easter Egg Hunt 2014

The Menominee Recreation Department held its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Spies Public Library on Saturday, April 5th! This event was geared towards children ages 3-8. Activities include crafts, story time, an egg hunt, a magic show, games, face painting and a picture with the Easter bunny! This free event was a hopping good time that you won't want to miss next year! This event was FREE OF CHARGE thanks to the generous donations of local businesses.  Special thanks goes to Spies Public Library and their staff for being generous enough to help host the event. Numerous area businesses provided monetary and prize donations to underwrite Easter Egg Hunt.  The Menominee Recreation Department would like to send many thanks to the sponsors below for making this event possible!

SANTA'S MAILBOX 2012
Santa has set up a mailbox at the Menominee Recreation Department! Children up to age 8 are welcome to mail their letters to Santa in care of the Recreation Department and Santa will mail a reply. Santa's mailbox opens on Monday, Novemeber 12th. Letters must be received by Monday, December 17th in order to give Santa plenty of time to respond.Program is free, but make sure to include a self addressed stamped envelope with your letters! Drop them of at City Hall (2511 10th Street) or mail to:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS COLORING CONTEST 2013

The Menominee Recreation Department will be holding a “Happy Holidays” coloring contest! The contest is open for boys and girls in grades K-3. The coloring page may be picked up at City Hall (2511 10th Street) starting on Monday, November 19th. Entries will be judged according to grade level. Coloring pages must be submitted mailed to City Hall (2511 10th Street) by Wednesday, December 26th before 4:30 p.m.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT 2012

Thank you again for coming to our Family Fun Night that was held on Wednesday, July 11th at Henes Park. This event was an enjoyable evening in which over 100 children and families were able to participate in for FREE!  This event included: crafts, games, prizes, refreshments, Careers on Wheels, Career Booths, bounce houses, magic shows, music, and a photobooth!  A huge THANK YOU goes to all of our wonderful volunteers and all of our sponsors! We couldn't have done this event without all of you!

The annual Pumpkin Patch will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. at Henes Park. The Pumpkin Patch is a fun day for children ages 3 - 10. Children enjoy crafts, games, cookie decorating, and a horse drawn hay ride around Henes Park. This Halloween event is free of charge thanks to the out pouring of support and donations from area businesses.
