Public Service Announcement

April 21, 2009

 

 

The City of Menominee’s Spring Cleanup schedule is:

 

            <= /span>Brush may not be placed curbside before May 1st or after May 3rd<= /sup>.

            <= /span>Brush collection will be done May 4th through May 8th.

 

            <= /span>Debris may not be placed curbside before May 8th or after May 10th= .

            <= /span>Debris collection will be done May 11th through May 15th.

 

Items NOT accepted cur= bside: Bricks, tires, concrete, demolition or building materials, batteries, oil, paint, pesticides, computers, televisions, microwaves, propane tanks, yard waste or tree limbs over 2” in diameter. Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers will be accepted curbside only if tagged by a certified Freon-removal technician.

 

Upholstered furniture, co= uches, chairs, box springs, mattresses, washers, dryers, stoves, dressers, desks w= ill not be picked up unless tagged with a sticker ($10 charged waived until May= 8th) which is available at the City Treasurer’s office during normal busin= ess hours and available only until clo= se of business on May 8th. After May 8th, the $10 charg= e is reinstated.

 

Limit of 5 cubic yards per household (one small dump truck load).

 

Saturday, May 9th= , 8am-4pm: One day only at the Armory Building, 2519 10th St<= /st1:Street>.

Disposal of the following= items at the following cost:

            <= /span>

Tires on= or off rims:       <= /span>$3.00 each

            <= /span>Vehicle batteries:     &nb= sp;    free

            <= /span>Fluorescent bulbs:      &= nbsp;  $0.25 to $0.35 depending on length

            <= /span>Mercury vapor bulbs:    $1.10= each

            <= /span>TVs/Electronics/Microwaves/Computers:        &= nbsp; $0.30 per pound

            <= /span>

 

Hazardous Waste Collectio= n for paints, pesticides, etc. will be announced by Menominee County next week.

 

No postcards will be sent= this year. Please direct questions to the DPW at 863-1736.
