CITY OF MENOMINEE, MICHIGAN

SPECIAL COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

NOVEMBER 8, 2004

 

 

A special meeting of the Menominee City Council, City of Menominee, County of Menominee, State of Michigan, was held Monday, November 8, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. in the Municipal Complex Council Chambers.

The Honorable George W. Krah called the meeting to order and led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

PRESENT: Council Members Hudon, Jasper, Mick, Organ, Plemel, Schloegel, and Sorensen; Mayor Krah

ABSENT: Council Members Fernstrum (excused)

PRESENT: 8 ABSENT: 1

A motion was made by Council Member Organ and seconded by Council Member Jasper to excuse Council Member Fernstrum from the meeting. This motion was carried unanimously.

 

Mayor Krah opened the special meeting that he called for the purpose of considering the following agenda:

  1. Pledge of allegiance to the flag.

  1. Public comment on agenda items only.
  2. The Buildings and Grounds Committee on accepting a bid for the Fire Department exhaust extraction system.
  3. The Public Works Committee on purchasing a used garbage truck.

5) Public comment.

  1. Adjourn.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT:

Mayor Krah opened the public comment session that was called for the purpose of hearing citizen comments on agenda items only.

No one was heard.

A motion was made by Council Member Plemel and seconded by Council Member Sorensen to close the public comment session. This motion was carried unanimously.

 

COMMITTEE REPORT:

At a November 3, 2004 meeting the Buildings and Grounds Committee reviewed the bids received for the Fire Department Exhaust Extraction System and recommended acceptance of the low bid submitted by Hastings Air Energy Control, Inc. in the amount of $35,900.00.

A motion was made by Council Member Plemel and seconded by Council Member Hudon to adopt the foregoing report. This motion was carried unanimously.

COMMITTEE REPORT:

At a November 3, 2004 meeting the Public Works Committee reviewed equipment needs in the Public Works Department and recommended purchasing a 1996 Peterbilt sanitation truck at the cost of $27,250 from Great Lakes Specialty Services, LLC, and they further recommended that the bid process be waived due to the nature of the truck and that the funds be allocated from the street department capital budget and contingencies.

A motion was made by Council Member Plemel and seconded by Council Member Mick to adopt the foregoing report. This motion was carried unanimously.

Mayor Krah opened the public comment session.

No one was heard.

A motion was made by Council Member Plemel and seconded by Council Member Jasper to close the public comment session. This motion was carried unanimously.

 

ADJOURN:
