SPECIAL COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

MAY 5, 2006

 

 

 

A special meeting of the Menominee City Council, City of Menominee, County of Menominee, State of Michigan, was held Friday, May 5, 2006 at 8 a.m. in the Municipal Complex Council Chambers.

 

The Honorable George W. Krah called the meeting to order and led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

 

PRESENT:  Council Members Fernstrum, Hudon, Jasper, Mick, Organ, Pintarelli, Schloegel and Sorensen

                   Mayor Krah

ABSENT:    None

 

PRESENT:  9                ABSENT:  0

 

 

Mayor Krah opened the special meeting that he called for the purpose of considering the following agenda:

 

1)         Pledge of allegiance to the flag.

2)                  Public comment.

3)                  City Manager hiring update.

4) Adjourn.

 

 

PUBLIC COMMENT:

 

Mayor Krah opened the public comment session that was called for the purpose of hearing citizen comments on agenda items only.

 

No one was heard.

 

A motion was made by Council Member Sorensen and seconded by Council Member Hudon to close the public comment session.  This motion was carried unanimously.

 

 

Mayor Krah informed council that Glenn Anderson has withdrawn from consideration for City Manager.

 

A motion was made by Council Member Schloegel and seconded by Council Member Sorensen to authorize City Attorney Rob Jamo to contact Eric Strahl to determine his interest and, if he is interested, make him a conditional offer of employment conditioned on passing a background check, passing a pre-employment physical, and agreeing to terms and conditions.

 

AYES:  Krah, Mick, Pintarelli, Schloegel, and Sorensen

NAYS: Hudon, Jasper, Organ, and Fernstrum

 

This motion was carried.
