SPECIAL COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
MAY 4, 2005
A special meeting of the Menominee City Council, City of Menominee, County of Menominee, State of Michigan, was held Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. in the Municipal Complex Council Chambers.
The Honorable George W. Krah called the meeting to order and led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
PRESENT: Mayor Krah, Council Members Fernstrum, Hudon, Jasper, Mick, Organ, Plemel, and Sorensen
ABSENT: Council Member Schloegel (excused)
PRESENT: 8 ABSENT: 1
A motion was made by Council Member Sorensen and seconded by Council Member Organ excuse Council Member Schloegel from the meeting. This motion was carried unanimously.
Mayor Krah opened the special meeting that he called for the purpose of considering the following agenda:

PUBLIC COMMENT:
Mayor Krah opened the public comment session that was called for the purpose of hearing citizen comments on agenda items only.
Walter Multerer, 1012-38th Avenue, said he supported the project, the lighting as designed, and the award to the low bidder.
A motion was made by Council Member Plemel and seconded by Council Member Fernstrum to close the public comment session. This motion was carried unanimously.
COMMITTEE REPORT:
At a May 2, 2005 meeting the Parks and Recreation Works Committee reviewed the bids received for Contract 03-PK-04 – Spies Field Sports Complex and they recommended accepting the low bid submitted by Kakuk Construction, Inc. in the amount of $1,520,398.00 with the deduction of Alternate A in the amount of $18,500.00 for a net bid of $1,501,898.00 subject to the milestone dates per bid documents not changing.

A motion was made by Council Member Hudon and seconded by Council Member Jasper to adopt the foregoing report.
AYES: Hudon, Jasper, Krah, Mick, Organ, Plemel, Sorensen, and Fernstrum
NAYS: None
This motion was carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Mayor Krah opened the public comment session.
No one was heard.
A motion was made by Council Member Plemel and seconded by Council Member Sorensen to close the public comment session. This motion was carried unanimously.
ADJOURN:
A motion was made by Council Member Plemel and seconded by Council Member Fernstrum to adjourn the meeting. This motion was carried unanimously.
