SPECIAL COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
APRIL 19, 2004
A special meeting of the Menominee City Council, City of Menominee, County of Menominee, State of Michigan, was held Monday, April 19, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. in the Boaters Lounge, 1000 First Street.
The Honorable George W. Krah called the meeting to order and led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
PRESENT: Council Members Fernstrum, Hudon, Jasper, Mick, Organ, Plemel, Schloegel, and Sorensen

Mayor Krah opened the special meeting that he called for the purpose of considering the following agenda:
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Mayor Krah opened the public comment session that was called for the purpose of hearing citizen comments on agenda items only.
Katie Jones, Co-Chair of the Rotary Project for the 100th Anniversary in 2005 playscape, said to possibly move Swings and Things to Spies Field and this could be replaced and be about 50% larger. Elementary children are involved with selecting the equipment.
Bob Martin said a similar project was done in Marquette a couple of years ago. Support and direction from the City is needed for a project.
Maria Bragonier, who runs the preschool across the street, is thrilled with Swings and Things and is in favor of moving and replacing.
Annamae Amerman, said that Spies Field was not always open, such as when games were not being played, and there would not be access at those times.
A motion was made by Council Member Plemel and seconded by Council Member Organ to close the public comment session. This motion was carried unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned to the Swings and Things site.
The meeting was reconvened in the Boaters Lounge.
A motion was made by Council Member Fernstrum and seconded by Council Member Hudon to refer this back to the Parks and Recreation Committee to research the appropriate site for the May 17th Council meeting. This motion was carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Debbie Kroll suggested videoing our parks (Henes, Swings and Things, Spies, and Water Tower).
A motion was made by Council Member Fernstrum and seconded by Council Member Jasper to close the public comment session. This motion was carried unanimously.
ADJOURN:
A motion was made by Council Member Plemel and seconded by Council Member Organ to adjourn the meeting. This motion was carried unanimously.
