SPECIAL
COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
FEBRUARY 24,
2006
A special meeting of the Menominee City Council,
City of Menominee, County of Menominee, State of Michigan, was held Friday, February
24, 2006 at 8:15 a.m. in the Municipal Complex Council Chambers.
A motion was made by Council Member Sorensen and
seconded by Council Member Hudon that Council Member Fernstrum act as chair of
the meeting in the absence of Mayor Krah and Deputy Mayor Mick. This motion was carried unanimously.
Council Member Fernstrum called the meeting to order
and led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
PRESENT: Council Members Fernstrum, Hudon, Jasper, Pintarelli,
Schloegel and Sorensen;
ABSENT: Council Members Mick and Organ, Mayor Krah
(all excused)
PRESENT: 6 ABSENT: 3
A motion was made by Council member Hudon and
seconded by Council Member Sorensen to excuse Council Members Mick and Organ
and Mayor Krah from the meeting. This
motion was carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Council Member Hudon and
seconded by Council Member Sorensen to approve the agenda for the meeting dated
February 22, 2006. This motion was
carried unanimously.
Council
Member Fernstrum opened the special meeting that Council Members Pintarelli,
Schloegel, and Sorensen called for the purpose of considering the following
agenda:
1) Pledge
of allegiance to the flag.
2)
Public comment on agenda
items only.
3)
The Judicial and
Legislative/Personnel and Labor Committee on approving the job description for
city manager as revised.
4) Public comment.
5) Adjourn.
PUBLIC
COMMENT:
Council Member Fernstrum opened the public comment
session that was called for the purpose of hearing citizen comments on agenda
items only.
No one was heard.
A
motion was made by Council Member Jasper and seconded by Council Member Hudon
to close the public comment session.
This motion was carried unanimously.

COMMITTEE REPORT:
The
Judicial and Legislative/Personnel and Labor Committee reported that they had
reviewed the job description for City Manager and they recommended that the job
description be approved as revised.
S/JUDICIAL AND LEGISTLATIVE/PERSONNEL AND LABOR COMMITTEE
A motion was made by Council Member Sorensen and
seconded by Council Member Hudon to adopt the foregoing report.
AYES: Hudon,
Pintarelli, Schloegel, Sorensen, and Fernstrum
NAYS: Jasper
Council Member Jasper explained he voted against the
recommendation because of the length of required experience was excessive.
This motion was carried.

Council Member Fernstrum opened the public comment
session that was called for the purpose of hearing citizen comments on agenda
items only.
No one was heard.
A
motion was made by Council Member Schloegel and seconded by Council Member Sorensen
to close the public comment session.
This motion was carried unanimously.
ADJOURN:
A motion was made by Council Member Hudon and
seconded by Council Member Jasper to adjourn the meeting. This motion was carried unanimously.
